This Privacy Policy explains how GroupBuyHub collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our website, services, and applications (the "Services"). By using the Services, you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Services.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide, including:

  • name, email address, telephone number, password, profile, business, and account information;
  • location or region that you enter for search, profile, or project features;
  • project, service, message, contact-form, referral, and support information;
  • payment and transaction information needed to provide paid services.

Payment card details are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not intend to store complete payment card numbers on our own servers.

We also receive technical information needed to operate and secure the Services, such as IP address, browser type, device and operating-system information, request details, and error or security logs. We do not use this information to create a device fingerprint for advertising. When you accept our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, we also retain a record of the account, document versions, acceptance time, and related technical context, such as IP address and browser user-agent, to document the acceptance and protect our legal rights.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies to maintain sessions, protect forms, remember security settings, and operate the website. These may include Laravel session and CSRF cookies.

With your explicit acceptance of all cookies, we may store these preference cookies:

  • Location preference: remembers the search location you selected for up to 30 days;
  • Language preference: remembers your selected interface language for up to one year;
  • Consent records: remember your cookie choice, consent version, and consent time for up to 180 days.

If you choose only essential cookies, or close the consent notice without making a choice, we do not save the location or language preference cookies. You can delete cookies through your browser settings. Deleting essential cookies may prevent parts of the Services from working.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and manage accounts and provide the Services;
  • process searches, projects, service listings, messages, payments, and support requests;
  • use location information to provide location-based search, geocoding, maps, and distance features;
  • authenticate users, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the security of the Services;
  • send service, account, security, and transactional communications;
  • improve reliability, troubleshoot errors, and understand how the Services are used.
4. Third-party services

We use service providers that process information on our behalf or provide features you request. Their own policies may also apply:

  • Mapbox: processes entered locations for geocoding, maps, autocomplete, and routing. Do not enter sensitive information into a location field.
  • Stripe: processes payments and payment-related information.
  • Google and Facebook: may provide authentication when you choose a social login option.
  • Google reCAPTCHA: helps protect forms from spam and automated abuse. It may process technical information under Google's terms and privacy policy.
  • Email and hosting providers: help us deliver messages, operate the website, store data, and maintain security.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose information to service providers, professional advisers, law enforcement, or other parties when reasonably necessary to provide the Services, protect rights and safety, comply with law, or complete a business transfer.

5. Retention and security

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, accounting, dispute-resolution, and security needs. We use reasonable technical and administrative safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

6. Your choices and rights

You may update account information through your profile, manage cookies through your browser, and withdraw optional cookie consent by deleting the preference cookies or contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

The Services are not directed to children who are not legally permitted to use them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
